Risk Assessment: Assessment of human health effects of chemicals. Review of ATSDR toxicological profiles and EPA IRIS documents; preparation of reports and evaluations on issues regarding environmental contamination; toxicity/health hazards of agents in ground water, air, etc. on behalf of EPA, state, and local governmental agencies. Product Development: Preclinical protocol design and placement, data auditing, report preparation and review, hazard communication, including labels and MSDS. Expertise in metabolism/pharmacokinetics studies (ADME) and carcinogenicity bioassays. Litigation Support: Expert witness testimony in cases involving effects of tobacco, pesticides, petroleum/petrochemicals such as gasoline , oil, and other lubricants, benzene, toluene, xylene, MTBE, ethylene oxide, oxygenates, n-hexane, morpholine, chlorinated compounds, polynuclear aromatics, formaldehyde, and metals. |
| Over 28 years experience as a toxicologist, with 20 years part-time consulting experience, 20 years experience teaching as Adjunct Assoc. Professor of Pharmacology, New York Medical College; full time consulting since 2004. Graduate school training in insecticides (MS, Ph. D.). Served as petroleum/petrochemical toxicologist in a major oil company; member of research/testing committees on behalf of the petroleum industry (7 yr). One and one/half years experience as a consulting senior environmental toxicologist writing risk assessment documents for EPA, other governmental agencies, and private clients. Basic research in mechanisms of chemical carcinogenesis and cancer chemoprevention (15 years); member of managerial staff performing GLP toxicology studies for industrial clients and writing risk assessment documents on specific agents, i.e., vinyl chloride, formaldehyde, and acrylonitrile (3 yr). Experienced in design and conduct of carcinogenesis bioassays and cancer chemoprevention efficacy assays, ADME studies in animals and human subjects, analytical methods, use of radiolabels, and report preparation.
